2009 Pago de Carraovejas El Anejon de la Cuesta de las liebres - 93 PTS - IWC

Tanzer International Wine Cellar 93 Pts"Glass-staining ruby. Explosive, smoke- and spice-accented dark berry compote and floral scents are complicated by notes of spicecake and vanilla. Sweet and expansive on the palate, offering intense black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors and a refreshing touch of blood orange. Rich but energetic, with superb finishing clarity, slow-building tannins and lingering sweetness. - JR"

Wine Advocate 93 Pts"The 2009 Pago de Carrovejas El Anajon de la Cuesta de las Liebres (to give it its full name), is Tinto Fino blended with 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot and raised for 12 months in French oak, has a much better, more refined bouquet with blackberry and raspberry fruit, a suggestion of wild heather and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with good backbone and structure, while the crisp acidity keeps the graphite-tinged finish agile and focused. This is very impressive. Drink now-2017." - Wine Advocate (Neal Martin, Issue#205, February 2013), 93 pts

jeb dunnuck logo 250"More open-knit, the 2009 El Anejon (93% Tinto Fino, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Merlot aged two years in French oak) offers a sexy perfume of vanilla-laced cassis, spice, lead pencil, and dried earth. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it’s silky and polished, with no hard edges. Now at age 10, it’s showing some maturity and drinking nicely yet should keep for another decade."

2010 Pago de Carraovejas El Anejon Ribera Del Duero - 94 PTS - WA

wa94"The 2010 El Anejon de Cuesta Las Liebres is produced with grapes grown at high altitude on chalky soils 96% Tempranillo, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot and aged one year in barrel. Of the whole lineup, it-s a clean, delineated, harmonious red, with a more lively palate, and is more soil-driven, with a chalky, supple, almost salty sensation. It has great length and acidity and should develop slowly and for a long time. Drink 2014-2025. - Luis Gutierrez"

jeb dunnuck logo 250"The 2010 El Anejon is made from 94% Tinto Fino with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, all of which spent two years in French oak. This full-bodied, powerful, seriously concentrated effort boasts a terrific bouquet of blackcurrant and cherry fruits as well as complex notes of licorice, graphite, road tar, and ample minerality. With beautiful purity and finesse, it’s not all about power and richness and is balanced, complete, and just terrific wine. It has another 10-15 years of prime drinking."
