2013 Palacio de Bornos Rueda Verdejo - BTYH - Excellent

bigger than your head logo 250"Pale straw-gold hue; tremendously seductive bouquet of jasmine and lilac, tangerine and lime peel, lemon verbena, with backnotes of licorice and limestone; pulls up an herbal, slightly grassy character on the palate, with pert citrus flavors and notably crisp acidity and flint-like minerality, all ensconced in a moderately lush texture. Excellent. A Great Bargain."

Tanzer International Wine Review 90 Pts"Bright straw. Floral-accented aromas of pear and nectarine, with a hint of lemon pith in the background. Dry and tangy on entry, then fleshier in the mid-palate, displaying juicy pit fruit and melon flavors and a touch of bitter pear skin. Finishes with good grip and length, leaving a spicy note behind."

2012 Palacio de Bornos Rueda Verdejo - 89 PTS - IWINE

I Wine review"The cooler climate of Rueda makes for a Verdejo that’s more Sauvignon Blanc like than that from La Mancha. It is richly aromatic, showing passion fruit and citrus that carry over to the soft, full palate with a touch of lanolin. The Sanz family, owners of the Bodegas de Crianza de Castilla Vieja, which produces Palacio de Bornos, has been making wine in Rueda for almost 150 years. The manager and winemaker at the winery is Antonio Sanz. The winery has 100 ha of mostly Verdejo vineyards and sells about 2 million liters of wine annually."
