2011 Hugl Grüner Veltliner - 87 PTS - WA

wa300"An outstanding bargain from this Austrian producer located in the southern part of Weinvertel, this should turn out to be a hugely popular wine, given the price point and the liter-sized bottle. Loads of wet rocks, crushed chalk and honeyed grapefruit as well as touches of apricots and apple skin are all present in this aromatic, light to medium-bodied, fresh, dry, zesty wine. Drink it over the next 1-2 years."

2012 Hugl Grüner Veltliner - 87 PTS - WA

wa300"The 2012 Gruner Veltliner exhibits a spicy, peppery nose displaying hints of citrus and honeyed grapefruit. This pleasant, dry, crisp white is a noteworthy value, especially for a liter bottle. Consume it over the next year. "

2014 Hugl Grüner Veltliner - 87 PTS - WINE VALUE - WA

wa300"Slightly more intense than the 2012 Grüner Veltliner is the 2014 Wimmer Grüner Veltliner, another 1,000-mililiter packaged bottle selling for a song. Plenty of lime notes intermixed with grapefruit, a hint of tangerine, and apple are all present in this fresh, well-focused, zesty wine. Drink it over the next year."
