2024 Domaine Grand Veneur Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge Vieilles Vignes - 95+ PTS - JD

jeb dunnuck logo 250"Gorgeous all the way, the 2024 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes is 45% Grenache, 45% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah from pebbly soils and was aged 16 months in 55% new barrels and 45% concrete. It has a deep ruby/plum hue as well as ripe aromatics of blackberries, pepper, spicy wood, and graphite, with plenty of Provençal nuances and character that develop as it sits in the glass. With medium to full body, a pure, layered, balanced mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish, it's going to benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and shine over the following 15-20 years. Drink 2029-2049."
