"Lovely nose of very ripe damson fruit and coffee bean oak. Surprisingly only medium-bodied for Châteauneuf, but so intense and concentrated, really vibrant and energetic. Tannins are fine, quite discreet but integral. Acidity is low but the freshness makes it feel balanced, and there's a lovely sense of finesse and a gathered, silk-rope finish. The oak is very well judged, it adds complexity, structure and length. Absolutely lovely wine; such class and will age brilliantly, and you don't sense the alcohol. You can drink young, and it will impress, but I would start from 2027. 2,300 bottles made. Old vines from La Crau, destemmed grapes. - Matt WALLS"
