2001 Domaine de la Mordorée Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge La Reine des Bois - 100 PTS - WA

wa100"More youthful and backwards, the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois has been incredibly consistent for me and always comes in near the top of the scale. Black raspberry, blackberry, wood smoke, licorice, crushed rock-like minerality and smoked beef are just some of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with serious levels of fruit, thrilling structure and blockbuster length. It still needs another handful of years to hit full maturity, but its off-the-hook good today (assuming you're not completely against tannin). - Jeb Dunnuck"

2005 Domaine de la Mordorée Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge La Reine des Bois - 96+ PTS - WA

wa96"More backwards, structured and completely closed, the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois reluctantly gave up deep dark fruits, charred earth, licorice and graphite on the nose, yet fleshed out beautifully on the palate. Full-bodied, massively constructed and a Vin de Garde for sure, it needs to be tucked into the back of the cellar and forgotten for another 3-4 years. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2007 Domaine de la Mordorée Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge La Reine des Bois - 97 PTS - WA

wa97"Evolving beautifully, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois has shed some of its crazy tannin and is showing a more layered, voluptuous profile. Possessing beautiful kirsch, blackberry, candied licorice, flowers and lavender, it offers knockout richness and decadence to go with brilliant purity of fruit, superb concentration, and a full-bodied, layered mouthfeel. While I don't think it matches the '01 or '10, it's an incredible bottle of wine that can be consumed anytime over the coming 10-15 years. - Jeb Dunnuck"

Possessing full-bodied richness, sweet tannin and thrilling purity, it can be enjoyed now for its exuberant character, but will also evolve gracefully going forward. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2010 Domaine de la Mordorée Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge La Reine des Bois - 99+ PTS - WA

wa99"A wine that might rival the 2001 when all is said and done, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois is an incredible effort that does everything right. Possessing a voluptuous, decadent and super-rich profile, it stays graceful and perfectly balanced, with beautiful freshness, a stacked mid-palate and a blockbuster finish. Opening up in the glass, with copious blackberry, cassis, graphite, violets and spring flower-like nuances, it needs another 2-3 years of bottle age, and will have upward of three decades of overall longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck"

2012 Domaine de la Mordoree Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de la Reine des Bois - 93 pts - IWRep

international wine report logo"The Domaine de la Mordorée 'La Reine des Bois' is a fantastic showing in 2012. It displays a deep inky color and offers layers of aromas and flavors including black raspberries, sweet plums, garrigue, licorice, chocolate, spices, pepper, forest floor and crushed stones. The full body is concentrated and well structured with plenty of depth ending in a long finish, which envelops your palate with sweet dark fruits and spices. This age worthy red only begins to show itself with extended air contact and will ultimately need just a bit more time. (Best 2017-2030)"
