2010 Pago de Carraovejas Reserva Ribera Del Duero - 92 PTS - WA

wa92"The 2010 Reserva, Tempranillo (97%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2%) and Merlot (1%), aged for one year in barrel. It is a sleek wine displaying a combination of fruit, flowers, spices and hints of bouquet starting to develop in bottle, with earthy tones and mineral sensations. The palate is smooth and clean, with polished, fine-grained tannins and good balance. I don-t usually see a big difference in quality between Crianza and Reserva. Drink now-2019. - Luis Gutierrez"

2010 Pago de Carraovejas Reserva Ribera Del Duero - 93 PTS - IWC

tanzer iwc 93 pts"(90% tempranillo and 10% cabernet sauvignon; aged for 12 months in new French oak): Opaque ruby. High-pitched aromas of redcurrant, cherry, tobacco and smoky minerals, with a sexy vanillin oak quality emerging with aeration. Juicy and precise, with bitter cherry and rose pastille flavors given spine by tangy acidity. Supple tannins come up slowly on the finish, which leaves spicecake and candied red fruit notes behind. I particularly like the interplay of oak and fruit here."

2012 Pago de Carraovejas Reserva Ribera Del Duero - 92 PTS - WA

wa92"I felt the ripeness, heat and oak more in the 2012 Tinto Reserva than in the Crianza from 2014. 2012 was a very dry year and this wine reached 15% alcohol, the same as the Crianza, but it feels warmer. The nose showed notes of incense, spices and noble woods over a core of ripe black fruit. The palate is lush and ripe, with round tannins and moderate acidity. It's incredible that with such ripeness and alcohol, the wine still feels quite balanced. In an XL way, but balanced. 60,000 bottles. - Luis Gutierrez"

2012 Pago de Carraovejas Reserva Ribera Del Duero - 93 PTS - Cellar Selection - WE

wine enthusiast 93 pts"Like it's bigger sibling El Anejón, this Reserva from a warm vintage is almost one-quarter Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in addition to Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). The opening of burnt earth, brandied cherry, rubber and herbal aromas is distinct. This feels a bit tough and chewy, with boysenberry, cassis, vanilla-cream and herbal spice flavors. A fairly smooth finish is young and vital. This should improve with aging. Best from 2019–2026."

vinous logo"Lurid ruby. Expansive red berry, incense and vanilla scents carry a spicy edge of white pepper. Juicy, broad and seamless in texture, offering sweet black raspberry, cherry-vanilla and floral pastille flavors that tighten up steadily on the back half. Shows excellent depth of flavor as well as finesse, and finishes extremely long and supple, with velvety tannins shaping lingering red and dark berry notes. - Josh Raynolds"
