2012 Manoir du Carra Julienas - 91 PTS - WA

Wine Advocate 91 Pts"The 2012 Julienas “Les Bottieres” comes from granite and schist soils. It is a small production from the family’s 0.8-hectare holding of 50-year-old vines and it is aged in one wooden foudre. It has an expressive bouquet with floral scents infusing the cranberry and red currant fruit that is well-defined and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, supple tannins that are impressive for the vintage, with plenty of chewy red berry fruit lining the satisfying finish. Drink now-2019. - Neal Martin "

2015 Manoir du Carra Beaujolais Cru Julienas Les Bottieres - 90 PTS - WA

wa90"The 2015 Julienas les Bottieres, which is aged 80% in foudres, has a red plum and cranberry-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite lithe in the mouth with supple tannin. I appreciate the purity of fruit here and there is a pleasant sour cherry, almost saline note on the finish. For twenty bucks this is a winner. - Neal Martin"
