"Very pale oeil-de-perdrix. With a nose of rosewater and red cherry skin, this rosé from the Minho region of Portugal is on the lighter end of the rosé spectrum. With a slightly spritzy mouth feel, it offers faint watermelon and cherry flavors on a light weight palate. The perfect sipping rosé to have by the pool on a hot summer day; serve with ice and a sprig of mint for a refreshing wine cooler. 75% Souzão, 15% Borracal and 10% Espadeiro aged on the lees for 4 months. The Adega de Lima is a cooperative of about two thousand growers located in Portugal’s oldest town, the charming Ponte de Lima. "Labeled as “meio seco,” or medium dry, this wine carries just enough sweetness to soften the edge of acidity common to vinho verde wines from northern Portugal. This rosé is crisp and refreshing, with strawberry and melon flavors. Think of drinking cantaloupe juice with a splash of fizzy water. It’s a fine palate cleanser to start your evening, and a worthy partner to a light brunch or salty, briny appetizers such as olives or cured sausages. If you’re keeping track of the grape varieties you’ve tasted, this wine is souzão, borracal and espadeiro. The white from this label is also good. ABV: 11 percent. - Dave McIntyre"
