2013 Gamba Old Vines Zinfandel Starr Road Ranch - 96 PTS - WA

wa96"The 2013 Zinfandel Starr Road Ranch Old Vine comes from a vineyard planted in 1920. A glorious level of licorice, black raspberry, blackberry, and cassis soars from the glass of this wine that wants to suggest old-vine material from a Mediterranean vineyard – but this is Russian River. Full-bodied, opulent, unctuous and a total decadent, hedonistic and intellectual turn-on, this wine should continue to offer great drinking for at least a decade. These are pretty serious Zinfandels and certainly Gamba’s name is going to have to be included with some of the stars of Sonoma, such as Hartford Court, Carlisle, Bedrock and even the superstar Turley over in Napa."

2014 Gamba Old Vines Zinfandel Starr Road Ranch - 88 PTS - WA

wa88"Deep garnet colored, the 2014 Zinfandel Old Vine Starr Road Ranch delivers exotic spice-laced baked brambles notes over a core of prunes, blueberry pie and licorice. Full-bodied and full-throttle in the mouth, it has a soft and cuddly texture and long finish. - Lisa Perrotti Brown"

2015 Gamba Old Vines Zinfandel Starr Road Ranch - 91 PTS - WA

wa91"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Zinfandel Old Vine Starr Road Ranch is a little closed, offering peeks at baked black berries, preserved plums and black raspberries notes with underlying chocolate box and spice box hints. The concentrated, full-bodied palate is well framed by soft, rounded tannins and a lively backbone, cutting through the dense fruit. It finishes with great persistence. - Lisa Perrotti Brown"
