"(13.9% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Pungent, high-toned aromas of blackberry, black pepper, licorice pastille and spices, plus a faint weedy nuance. Sweeter and plusher in the mouth than the nose suggests, but still with a pungent licorice-and-pepper quality to its dark berry flavors. A bit disjointed owing to its combination of somewhat herbal flavors and thick, smooth texture but the tannins are harmonious and fine-grained. I'd like to see this again in a year or two. - Stephen Tanzer"
