Domaine de la Colombette has been in the hand of François Pugibet since 1966. He is the 4th generation winemaker of the family, and was a pioneer as he planted noble grape varietals, mechanized the harvest, and began barrel ageing. His work was rewarded with the title of World's Best Chardonnay in 1995.
His son, Vincent, took over in 1997 and focused on expanding the estate and developing new resistant grape varieties for pesticide-free viticulture and he also worked on de-alcoholization.
