Domaine de l'Ecu Muscadet Granite
Domaine de l'Ecu
France - Loire Valley - Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur lie

The wine is produced from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grapes that are sourced from a 2 hectare-vineyard.
This Granite boasts a white gold color, an elegant nose of pronounced mineral, flint and silex notes intertwined with aromas of citrus fruits and oyster shells. The attack is sharp and straight. The mouth is pure and fresh with iodine, chalky and salty notes, and citrussy flavors. A wine of great aging potential.

2020 Domaine de l'Ecu Muscadet Granite - 91 PTS - WA

wa91"Aged on the big lees in concrete cisterns until March this year, the 2020 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Granite offers ripe and aromatic fruit with beautifully fine and refreshing granite notes. Round and intense on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, refined and elegant, singular salty and grippy Muscat with delicate bitters on the yeasty finish. This is an excellent Muscadet. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at ProWein in Düsseldorf in May 2022. - Stephan Reinhardt"

wine spectator 92 ptsCrunchy in texture, with mouthwatering acidity running through and underscoring the white peach and lime notes. Bone-dry, showing slight grip on the well-defined finish. Drink now through 2027. 1,000 cases made, 150 cases imported. - AZ”

wine enthusiast 92 pts"Named after the rock upon which the vineyard sits, this wine is textured, very mineral and concentrated. Ripe apple flavors are part of this structure and tangy character. A little young it will be better from late 2019. - ROGER VOSS”

vinous logo"The nose here is understated but appetizingly marine and lemon-zesty. Tangy and piquantly seed-tinged apple is laced with lemon zest on a polished, satisfyingly juicy palate. The sustained finish is bursting with brightness and mouthwateringly laced with mineral salts. - David Schildknecht”

2013 Domaine de l'Ecu Muscadet Granite - 89 PTS - WA

wa89"The 2013 Muscadet Sevre et Maine Granite is more sensual than the 2013 Gneiss, showing clear and ripe golden pears and citrus flavors on the nose with aromatic herbs and a delicate iodine minerality. In contrast, the clear palate is marked by a pronounced acidity and a persistent salty and animating taste followed by ripe and succulent fruit flavors of honeydew melon. This is an impressive, quite complex Muscadet with a great aging potential. - Stephan Reinhardt"

wa90"The lemon colored 2012 Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Granite offers brisk yeasty flavors with aromas of pineapples, limes, confit de citron and almond biscuit on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied, this is a complexly mineral wine with a juicy fruit expression and a slightly salty aftertaste. - Stephan Reinhardt"
