Gamba Estate Old Vines Zinfandel
Gamba Vineyards and Winery
United States - California - Napa Valley

The original and flagship wine for GAMBA Vineyards and Winery from our family Estate Vineyard in the Russian River Valley planted in 1900.

Vineyard Information: The Gamba Estate Vineyard
Planted in the Russian River Valley on gently rolling terrain above the valley floor in 1900, the Gamba Estate Vineyard is organically maintained and dry farmed, relying on winter rains as its sole source of irrigation. This historic old vine vineyard produces very low yields of outstanding fruit, approximately only one half ton per acre. The low yields provide concentrated flavors, and we strive to capture and bring these intense flavors to your glass. This historic, treasured, and spectacular vineyard site is truly a shining star among the relatively few old vine vineyards left in Sonoma County, and we are honored to share with you its glorious bounty.

wa91"Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Zinfandel Old Vine Gamba Estate Vineyard gives baked berries, pronounced plum preserves, floral and spice box notes leading into an impressive full-on, full-bodied palate laden with rich, softly textured fruit, finishing with nice balance. - Lisa Perrotti Brown"

2013 Gamba Estate Old Vines Zinfandel - 94 PTS - WA

2013 Gamba Estate Old Vines Zinfandel - 94 PTS - WA

wa94"The 2013 Zinfandel Old Vine Gamba Estate Vineyard (no wimpy wine here at 15.9%) shows great classicism in its structure, sweet tannin and totally disguised alcohol, dispelling the myth that somehow 15.9% produces wines that are out of balance, burning and overheated. That is a falsehood that needs to be debunked time after time. Aside from polemics, this is a full-bodied, gorgeously rich, gutsy, full-throttle Zinfandel that is bursting with fruit and character representing the essence of this varietal. Drink it over the next decade or more. These are pretty serious Zinfandels and certainly Gamba’s name is going to have to be included with some of the stars of Sonoma, such as Hartford Court, Carlisle, Bedrock and even the superstar Turley over in Napa."
