Luis XIV Vino Noble
"There is a new category in Alicante, Vino Noble, for oxidative, solera and long-aging reds with more sugar than Fondillón. The NV Luis XIV Vino Noble is a blend of Monastrell, with 25% of the wine from 2001 that matured in used oak for 22 years and the rest from 2017 that also matured in used American oak but for five years. It comes from grapes picked very late and fermented in lagar with indigenous yeasts, and it has 15.85% alcohol and 105 grams of sugar, with no alcohol or sugar added. It has a mahogany color and a very spicy nose (cloves, Jamaica pepper) with notes of vermouth, aromatic herbs, cinnamon and eucalyptus, balsamic and very showy. The palate is velvety and balanced, with integrated sweetness. 900 half-liter bottles were filled in February 2023. - Luis GUTIERREZ"
