Perchaud Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin
Corinne Perchaud
France - Burgundy - Chablis Premier Cru

The plots are in the Vaucoupin Chichée village. They are very steep and facing south, with an average age of 40 years. The total area is 1.45 hectares. The vines are planted on Kimmeridgian marl consisting clay and limestone.

The wine is expressive and lively. Rich and generous in the mouth, it is round and well-balanced with a lovely mineral structure, finesse and complexity.

2015 Corinne Perchaud Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin - 90 PTS - VINOUS

vinous logo"(done entirely in cuve): Pale yellow. Very pure, classic Chablis scents of lemon, lime, powdered stone and white pepper. Quite refined in its texture and more easygoing than the Fourneaux, offering flavors of candied citrus peel and lemon thyme. Perhaps a bit less mineral-driven than the Fourneaux, but entices with its sucrosité. Mounts slowly and steadily on the finish. Grossot made about 45 hectoliters per hectare from this vineyard in 2015, vs. just 11 in '16. - Stephen Tanzer"

Wine Enthusiast 90 Pts

"A wine that is tight, structured while rich. That gives a mineral grittiness as well as more tropical and wood aging flavors. Together, the tastes merge into a complex, full-bodied wine that ends with just the right amount of acidity."

Tanzer International Wine Cellar 91 Pts"These vines were picked near the beginning of the harvest) Pale, green-tinged color. Steely aromas of lime and crushed stone lifted by white flowers. Dense, juicy and penetrating, with lively flavors of minerals and white flowers. Quite tactile and a bit saline on the very dry back end, coating the palate with mineral dust."
