"100% Syrah aged for 22 months in 400L barrels of which 25% are new oak. Near Classic N. Rhone Syrah from a steep terraced vineyard. Lovely deep ruby, violet. Fine sweet black berry / gamy pepper aromas. Very fine, almost smoky gamy aromas. Rich, silky tannins, lovely berry flavors slightly boysenberry / peppery finish with long definition of fruit and good acidity. If Burgundy was made with Syrah, not Pinot Noir, this would be a textbook example! Excellent if $$, but now typical of this AOC, given the small quantities produced and the amount of labor that goes into tending steep vineyards. Now-2032. - Joe BUTLER MW"
