"The 2022 Vacqueyras Château Mazane is more inward and focused, with a darker edge to its ripe red and black fruit, as well as notes of new leather, graphite, and ground pepper. It has a kiss of background oak and is medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and structured. This is always a more serious, age-worthy wine compared to the open, Provençal-styled Grande Garrigue. A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre, it was vinified in stainless steel and aged in a mix of tanks and barrels. Give it a year or two of bottle age, and it should evolve beautifully over the next 10-12 years."
