Pago de las Capellanes Blanco O Luar Do Sil Godello Tostado de Seadur
Pago de los Capellanes
Spain - Galicia - Valdeorras

Valdeorras created a unique sweet wine, locally called ‘tostado’ (‘toasted’). On the brink of disappearance due to its complex production and very low yield, this style returns to the present day thanks to the passionate vocation of the Rodero Villa family to recover a myth of ancestral viticulture.

Sweet and fresh at the same time, our Tostado de Seadur stands for a unique combination of natural conditions and cultural experience. A strict selection of the ideal Godello clusters, a patient and delicate process of raisining the grapes and, finally, a slow winemaking and ageing processes, which respect the rhythms set by nature. The result is a jewel of very limited production, a wine of whim and celebration. Magic drop by drop.

Vinification
Vineyard areas selected for their sunny and dry microclimate, with exceptional vine health. Hand-tended, with a precise and respectful work. The Godello grapes are arvested when fully ripe and loose, in the third week of September. The bunches were carefully selected.
After arriving at the winery in 15-kilos crates, the bunches were hung individually by their stems with a string. Thus exposed to the air in a dry, ventilated, and protected space. They remained like this until January of the following year, slowly drying and concentrating the grape’s sugars and aromas. After being taken down, they were gently pressed. The juice is fermented in French oak barriques and it is then aged for 12 months in French Oak.
