tim atkin logo 250"Styles are changing at this Agrelo-based family winery in the hands of the new generation, with more emphasis on fruit rather than oak. This pan-Mendoza Cabernet combines fruit from Luján and the Uco Valley and is fresh, dense and well-balanced, with a hint of oak spice and a blackcurrant pastille core. 2023-28"

"Dried herbs and cherry blend with hints of licorice in the nose of this red. It has good acidity and moderate tannins, supporting savory notes of cherry, red plum, and bell pepper. The finish is slightly warm, with notes of cigar box. - Jesica VARGAS."

tim atkin logo 250"Youthful, assertive and intensely oaked, this stylish Cabernet Sauvignon combines fruit from Agrelo and Gualtallary in the classic Mendoza two-step. Smoky, dense and quite firm, with damson and cassis fruit, it’s a wine with one eye on the future."

vinous logo"Bright red-ruby. Pungent peppery, herbal lift to the aromas of redcurrant, raspberry and tobacco leaf. Surprisingly sweet on entry, but the intense red berry and spice flavors are energized by firm acidity and an element of mountain herbs in the mid-palate. This firm yet immediately accessible Cabernet Sauvignon has less of the peppery quality--and more obvious fruit sweetness--than the Cabernet Franc. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and repeating notes of herbs and pepper. (14.5% alcohol). - Stephen Tanzer"

tim atkin logo 250"Still on the youthful side at only two years old - specially given the way the Bressia wines age - this has enticing aromas of mint and liquorice, stylish oak and plenty of sweet plum and cassis fruit. Ripe and well textured. 2020-24"

vinous logo"(14.5% alcohol): Slightly dull dark red. Pungent aromas of redcurrant, plum, licorice, tomato leaf, green pepper and herbs. Offers a fine-grained texture but less sweetness than the 2016 Cabernet Franc, showing more of the vintage's greenness and lacking the lift of the Cab Franc. Delivers good texture but doesn't quite come alive. Finishes with rather easygoing tannins. - Stephen Tanzer"

wine enthusiast"Saucy, earthy, almost muddled aromas are not overtly fruity. A dense palate is deep and saturated but frankly a little syrupy. Concentrated berry flavors have a soupy character, while this tastes minty on the finish. - MICHAEL SCHACHNER"

wa89"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Monteagrelo from Agrelo and Luján de Cuyo grapes, matured in oak barrels for 15 months. The profile is quite classic with blackberries, cedar wood, a touch of graphite and ripe and juicy touches. The medium-bodied palate is serious with grainy, fine tannins. It is balanced and drinkable. - Luis Gutierrez"

Wine Advocate 88+ PtsAged 15 months in a combination of American and French oak, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Monteagrelo is more backward than the 2011 Malbec. It possesses a dense ruby/purple color along with notes of creme de cassis, tobacco leaf, cigar smoke, spice and vanillin. Medium to full-bodied with light-to-moderate tannin, good density and richness, it should drink well for 6-8 more years.

Wine Advocate 88 Pts.The 2009 Monteagrelo Cabernet Sauvignon, from Lujan de Cuyo, is aged in French and American oak for 12 months. It has a very Old World, Left Bank bouquet with subtle herbaceous notes and very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red fruit and a fleshy, supple red currant and cranberry-tinged finish. This is very fine, although it offers short-term pleasure. Drink now-2015.
