Croix Senaillet Pouilly-Fuisse AOC
Domaine de la Croix Senaillet
France - Burgundy - Pouilly Fuisse

Croix Senaillet's Pouilly-Fuissé comes from the villages of Solutré and Fuissé. 70-year-old vines, planted on a south and northeast-facing parcel, are grown on Jurassic-era limestone mixed with platy marl. Very low yield.

Bright gold color. The wine expresses delicate toasty notes, subtle caramel, almonds and ripe fruits aromas. The mouth is round, ample. The oak is well integrated giving volume, depth and a juicy finish. This elegant and well-balanced wine shows the minerality of the Pouilly-Fuisse terroir and presents a great ageing potential.

vinous logo"(made from three parcels from different terroirs; vinified partly in piècesand demi-muids from one to five years of age): Bright yellow. Sexy spicy oak lifts the aromas of soft citrus zest and clove; shows more of a yellow-fruit ripeness than the 2016 Saint-Véran bottlings. Nicely concentrated, generous Pouilly-Fuissé with good spicy cut and acid spine. Offers a good combination of depth and energy, not to mention subtle complexity. Finishes spicy and persistent, but give this wine until next summer to harmonize more fully. The yield here was barely 30 hectoliters per hectare in 2016, according to Richard Martin. - Stephen Tanzer"

wine enthusiast 91 pts"This wine is ripe, with good balance between acidity and the rich yellow fruits. It has a lightly tangy character, although it is more about delicious juiciness and a warm, generous character that is lightly sustained by toast. Drink from 2017. — R.V."
