Brewed in the English Barleywine tradition and aged in rum barrels for 21 months, Rum Barrel Brick Kiln’s deep mahogany hue gives way to bright aromas of toasted sugar, almond, and coconut. Extended aging in rum barrels adds deep notes of vanilla, baking spices, and gentle tones of cherry to Brick Kiln, named in tribute to the Southeast Ohio brick industry. The kilns of Athens Brick Company (est. 1890) once operated down the street from our current production brewery.
